A Rockn' good time at the PNE

This weekend was wild and amazing! It was one of the best weekends of summer 2010 and one that I will never forget. I was looking forward to the PNE all of last week. I have great memories there. Some of my youngest memories are of my Dad taking all of us down to the PNE and then complaining about the costs. I didn't understand it at the time how much it cost to take a family to the PNE for the day. Ride and gate passes are close to 50 bucks and that's just for one kid! Our teen wanted to go to the PNE for the day also but with her friends. So we had two kids there but spent most of our time with Skywalker. We did run into the teen. She looked surprised and clearly didn't want us hanging around her and her teen friends. I guess we are just not cool enough. lol. Or maybe she didn't want us around because she had secretly invited her ex bad boy ex boyfriend to the PNE. Her current boyfriend couldn't make it so she invited this punk instead!! She didn't tell us. We found out when we saw them walking by us at the Mariann's trench concert!! I thought he was out of the picture because he moved away. Apparently not. Teen world continues. Skwalker enjoyed the rides although they were all very busy during the day. The crowds at the PNE were massive!! I've never seen the PNE so busy. It was a sunny summer weekend and everyone decided to go to the PNE. Wow! The superdogs show was almost sold out!! I've never seen so many people. I was glad to have some alone time to go shopping at the Marketplace and walk around on my own for a while. It was an interesting place to watch people. It's also the best place to get great food!! We always consume a lot of calories but I figure it all comes off because of the walking you do. My feet and back were so sore after 11 hours of walking around the PNE!! I have a few blisters to remind me of all the miles we must have walked. Ouchies! The mini-donuts were awesome! I admit that we bought a few bags to snack on through the day. We are addicted! I heard from someone that they specifically come to the PNE just for the mini-donuts. lol. Washing them down with some fresh lemonaid is one of the best joys of summer for me. :D We spent over an hour to get us a really good place to watch the Mariannas Trench concert. I had wanted to see Joan Jett on Friday but my son had no interest in it. He found out his sister was going to Mariannas trench and wanted to go. So we went on Saturday instead. I've been to a lot of concerts but this one was very wild!! I've never seen so many teens!! The teen girls were screaming for the lead singer. I was very impressed with their music. I had heard of "celebrity status" but didn't know any other of their songs until Saturday. Our son was excited to get a t-shirt from it. They were selling out fast. We saw Hedley in concert a few years ago before they became really big. I think Mariannas Trench will become a pretty big band. They've got lots of fans who were there on Saturday's PNE show. I have to admit that I thought the lead singer was pretty hot!! It's the cougar in me. I had a few fantasies of him while he sang his love song to all the girls. Yum!! One girl threw her bra at him during the show and he said he "would put it back on her later". Ohhh.... Mariann's Trench performed as the sun set over an incredible PNE summer concert. It was amazing and a really neat experience for me. We saw a Tina Turner look-a-like perform also and then Skywalker went on the rides. The rides are always so neat at night time with the lights on and sounds. We checked out the Hall of Fame tent and other places. We saw the animals there and also Skywalker enjoyed the petting zoo. He had a blast and it was great to experience the PNE through his eyes. He was brave to go on the big kid rides for the first time alone. I really enjoyed taking him. I also felt close to Master. There was fireworks at the end of the night and I cuddled with Master Anakin and we kissed and felt close. We spent 11 hours at the PNE having lots of fun and experiencing the best part of summer!
