Expo 86 memories

A few weeks ago I was in Fort Langley with Anakin. We visited a few antique stores. One of them had some really cool 80's stuff in it. I saw a mug that I really liked which had "Expo Ernie" on it. The mug is from Expo 86 which was held in Vancouver. It got us talking about Expo 86 and our memories with it. It's a bit strange to me that Anakin and I have a lot of the same memories of it but yet none of them were together. We had no idea that we were both there on opening day!!! He had gone to the opening of the skytrain and got to see Princess Diana as well. I had considered going to to that with a friend but was worried it would be too crowded. It's neat that we both were at Expo 86 though. I was able to talk about my memories of it and he knew exactly what I was talking about. It's strange to think that we might have run into each other and not known it. It wasn't our time yet obviously. I was only 13 at the time so I know I wouldn't have been interested in Him yet. lol. Anakin was 20 years old at the time. Our age difference doesn't matter now but it would have back then. We left the store but didn't buy anything. Anakin stopped by there on the way home from work on Monday night. It was one of my Valentine's day gifts. He wrapped it up and surprised me with it as well as some expensive chocolate and other goodies. The mug is a very thoughtful gift and really surprised me. I know it cost quite a bit too. I wish I hadn't gotten rid of all my Expo 86 stuff. I had no idea how much it would be worth today. Master is a very romantic man and can surprise me with the most thoughtful gifts sometimes. Thank You, Master! Expo 86 is one of the happiest memories of my childhood. I went several times to it with my family and also with friends too. The city came alive for it. I was really happy to experience the city coming alive again during the Olympics in 2010. That was a really memorable experience that I will never forget. Anakin and I met after the 80's were over and yet share lots of memories from that time. I met Him in college when we were in the same class. I knew from the beginning that we were going to be best friends. We shared a chocolate chip muffin together and that was it. I have not blogged about our college years but lots happened. We both went through a lot of life changing experiences which brought us to where we are today. Now we are married and M/s. We have a beautiful family and a true love which bonds us. I hope everyone had a good Valentine's day! I had a pretty quiet one. I was able to celebrate it with Anakin last Friday night. We did take the kids out for dinner and had some cuddles before bed. We woke up this morning and had a quickie. It was nice to connect with Him before He left for work. I am missing Him already and looking forward to date night on Friday!
